Girls' Varsity Head Coach
Mercersburg Academy
Mercersburg Academy Girls’ Lacrosse Camp welcomes players of all skill levels for a comprehensive skill-building experience that will leave players feeling confident and prepared to compete at the next level.  Coach Ahlgren and her staff of college players and coaches will focus on skill development and improvement, from fundamental stickwork skills to advanced attacking and defending methods.  Girls will have plenty of opportunities to play full field games, but will also build their abilities in small game situations.  Skills Choice Sessions allow campers to choose which skills they’d like to spend time working on, while coaches will assist and help develop proper technique.  Additional activities and free time fun on the Mercersburg Academy campus provide girls with opportunities to relax and enjoy themselves.

Mercersburg Academy Girls' Lacrosse Program Overview:
  • A nationally renowned school. A culture of academic success. A program on the rise. A place to define yourself as a person and as an athlete.
  • The foundation of Mercersburg lacrosse is the development of both the physical and mental game of each athlete, focusing on building athleticism, great stickwork, competitive composure, and winning attitudes. This foundation has provided the base for a program, that, in recent seasons, has reached the highest level of play and accomplishments in team history.
  • A coaching staff that sports extensive experience on the field and on the sidelines provides leadership for Mercersburg’s varsity, junior varsity, and beginner levels of play.
  • The offseason is prime time for Storm lax players to develop their athleticism and their game. Most varsity players compete on club teams in the summer and a number of athletes play other sports in the fall, while also playing in 3v3 and 5v5 tournaments, clinics, and showcases. Indoor sessions lead the winter, prepping the team for a spring-break training camp and then the regular season.
  • Recent Mercersburg graduates have gone on to play on the collegiate level at Bates College, Chapman University, Frostburg State University, Gettysburg College, Hamilton College, Lock Haven University, the University of Michigan, the U.S. Naval Academy, Virginia Wesleyan College, and Washington College. Several also now coach high school and club teams.
  • The lacrosse team trains and competes on Regents’ Field, an expansive synthetic-turf facility completed in 2009 and designated for primary use by female sports teams at Mercersburg. An adjacent natural-grass field serves as a secondary training option as well.
