Junior Campers ages 7-11 will have the time of their lives expressing themselves in a safe and fun environment that embraces and appreciates the diversity of every camper. Our directors and counselors create an environment where campers can be themselves while making friends and enjoying new experiences.

What to Expect

Campers will be immersed in fun activities from Enrichments to our very own carnival on Mercersburg’s campus.  Other activities include kayaking, biking, tubing, and sports.  Campers will also enjoy an awesome day at Hersheypark for some wild rides and sweet games.  A junior Adventure Camper is sure to gain confidence during this first overnight camp experience.

Adventure Activities

JAC campers enjoy a different slate of theme activities each day.  Whether it’s traveling to a beautiful state forest for adventures or roving over acres of rides at Hersheypark, our group tackles each exciting challenge with smiling faces.  Safety and fun rule the day for any adventure.

Outdoor Extravaganza
Travel to a local state forest area for a day of canoe rides, trail hiking, swimming, Frisbee golf, and other cool stuff.

Water Wackiness
Splash and dash or casually meander down the winding length of a local waterway on our special Adventure Camp tubes. Qualified guides and counselors with water guns keep things safe and lively.

Sports Galore
You name it, we play it. Start with Kickball and our Challenge Course, then move to Super Tag and Speed Soccer. Everyone plays and the emphasis is on fun, not on victory.

Amusement Ride-O-Rama
Hersheypark awaits Adventure Campers who are ready to conquer the rides and attractions, and then gain a new perspective on North America’s five natural regions with a trip through the native plants and wildlife habitats of ZooAmerica.

Enrichment Activities

Campers take part in all kinds of fun enrichment activities during the week such as Tie Dye, Sand Art, Science Projects, and Paper Mache.  A supportive and encouraging environment makes campers comfortable enough to try new endeavors and celebrate their accomplishments.

Living at Camp

This is overnight camping?

These are contemporary camps with a traditional flavor, even down to cabin life. Campers live in a modern, air-conditioned dormitory that has been altered to meet the vigorous needs of Adventure Campers. Two sets of bunk beds occupy each dorm room, which 3-4 campers transform into their cabin. Carpeted hallways lead to tiled bathrooms, with showers that have privacy curtains.

Bring your trunk and personal necessities, and you are set for cabin life, Adventure Camp style.

Counselors live in adjacent cabins and our open-door policy ensures comfort and safety for every camper. An emphasis on respect, courtesy, cooperation, and consideration enables campers to live and thrive with others to make cabin life enjoyable for all.

Financial Assistance

Our financial assistance provides students displaying strong desire, high merit, and financial need the opportunity to attend our programs. Download the Financial Assistance Checklist and Application along with your registration. Contact our office if you have any questions via email or phone.
