Young Writers Camp went on a field trip yesterday to HBP printing where they got to see how a work goes from an idea to a book! The great staff there gave the students, what had to be, an inspiring and eye opening tour of the print process.

Walking across campus today I was lucky to stumble upon the Young Writers Camp engrossed in a trust building activity. At first, I found this scene a bit odd. However, the group’s facilitator, Michelle Poacelli, informed me that the group was getting ready to read their work publicly, one of the most vulnerable experiences one can expose themselves to, and this trust exercise was preparing them for their showcase. In the picture there is a girl with a blindfold and her teammates are guiding her through the train maze only using words, I hope she made it!
