This past Tuesday night our Teen Adventure Camp had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Tag Party team to our campus. We broke up into two groups and played a combined hour and a half of laser tag. After the group was done playing laser tag we all cooled off with an awesome game of water tag. The perfect end to a hot, but ridiculously fun night. The link to the pictures can be found HERE.

Campers both Teen and Mac campers took to the great outdoors today, exploring a variety of activities such a rock climbing, geocaching, kayaking, wilderness skills, and many others! It might have been a little overcast here in Mercersburg but the sun managed to break through more than a few times and the temperature was great for being in the outdoors! The campers also got to take more of their enrichment classes today, working on films, dances, art, music, and more! They’ll present what they’ve been working on to their fellow campers at the end of the week!

What a whirlwind! Session 2 is almost over and I’m gonna have to think about saying good bye to all my new best friends soon. Well, no sense in worrying about that now, there’s fun to be had! I have had the best time putting my nose in MAC and Teen Adventure’s business, and they don’t seem to mind! I got to go to Hersheypark the other day with Teen Adventures and I did not want to leave! Do you know how much chocolate they make there? I haven’t gone rafting yet, but I have a feeling its on the horizon… I just have to remember to tie my life vest tight, I’m not as buoyant as I look. All of the fun I’m having at Adventure Camp is enough to blow my ears back!

It was a day of contrasts for the Teen Adventure Campers on the Youghiogheny River yesterday. Our group was scheduled to attack the River at noon, led by the battle tested guides of Wilderness Voyageurs, however, the weather was not cooperating. The sky appeared gloomy and foreboding as we all suited up in our PFD’s and helmets. It began to storm as our group leader delivered his essential rafting speech before the put in on the river. Thunder crashed and the heavens poured down as the brave Teen Adventurers marched their rafts down to the water, nothing was holding this crew back. Minutes after the Teen Adventurers began floating down stream into the entry rapids, the clouds parted and the sun shined down, this was going to be a beautiful day after all! I should have known, with a group as tough as these campers, they wouldn’t walk away from an awesome day on the river!!

OK, clearly we couldn’t fool you! River climbing and rock rafting are made up sports, but considering the crazy adventure we go on here at Adventure Camp, I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true in the near future!
