Lights, Camera, Action!
Did you know that Mercersburg has produced two Academy Award winners? Explore and expand your interest in the many elements of theatre in one dynamic week that brings the stage and young people together. Young performers will gain skills in improvisation, stage presence, body movement, vocal techniques, character development, ensemble work and problem solving. This unique experience exposes actors to the technical elements of lighting, sound, make-up and costume design.
The Mercersburg Summer Theatre Workshop is carefully crafted to provide a creative and exciting experience in theatre. At Mercersburg, this also goes well beyond the stage. Our aspiring actors will take trips to professional theatres for backstage tours and live performances, wow their peers at a talent show, enjoy a movie in the Simon Theatre, sing and eat s’mores at campfires and much more. To top it all off, the workshop culminates with a performance featuring all actors.
