Adventure Camp takes kids ages 8-14 on a wild ride they will talk about for years. Variety is the spice of life, and at Adventure Camp, variety is an understatement. There is never a dull moment with exciting Enrichments, excursions in the great outdoors and adventures afar! Camp adventures include trips to Hersheypark, white water rafting with River Trail and a professional sports game.

MAC’s unique structure provides just the right balance of enrichment challenges, sports, outdoor adventures, and fun trips to make every session wild, wonderful, and memorable.

What to Expect

What fun would camp be without campfires, a night of sleeping under the stars or camp competitions? It wouldn’t be Adventure Camp, that’s for sure. Every session, campers spend at least one night braving the wild and almost every night singing around the campfire. Also, campers are divided into two rival teams, the Hurricanes and Tornadoes. Fighting for bragging rights, these two groups face off in competitions such as Camp Wars, Song Battles and Capture the Flag (to name a few).

Adventure Activities

Choose your own Adventure is the name of the game at Mercersburg and we have a whole lot of exciting activities to choose from. From Arts and Crafts to Whitewater Kayaking, Adventure Camp has something for everyone. Check out a complete list of offerings here.

Sports Galore

You name it, we play it. Start with Kickball and End Zone, then move to Super Tag and Speed Soccer. Everyone plays and the emphasis is on fun, not on victory.

Hurricanes and Tornadoes

Don your parka and wrap yourself up in the friendly and crazy contests between the Hurricanes and the Tornadoes, as we play crazy games like Capture the Flag and compete for their respective team. Campers also earn merits for their team through cabin inspections, good sportsmanship, and excellent attitudes.

Evening Events

Evenings are filled with traditional camp games as well as cool Adventure Camp must-dos. Camper/Counselor Skits blend with evening campfires and everyone moves and grooves on Disco Dance Night. We also pitch our tents and camp out under the stars in the Enchanted Forest section of our campus one night.

Campers take part in all kinds of fun enrichment activities during the week. This list is just a few of the many things they do every day at JAC. Living at Camp

This is overnight camping?

These are contemporary camps with a traditional flavor, even down to cabin life. Campers live in a modern,air-conditioned dormitory that has been altered to meet the vigorous needs of Adventure Campers. Two sets of bunk beds occupy each dorm room, which 3-4 campers transform into their cabin. Carpeted hallways lead to tiled bathrooms, with showers that have privacy curtains.

Bring your trunk and personal necessities, and you are set for cabin life, Adventure Camp style.

Counselors live in adjacent cabins and our open-door policy ensures comfort and safety for every camper. An emphasis on respect, courtesy, cooperation,and consideration enables campers to live and thrive with others to make cabin life enjoyable for all.
