The rain can’t keep MAC campers down!

Despite the dreary weather that has swept through Mercersburg’s campus, our MAC campers are keeping their heads high and their spirits up! This lucky photographer had the privilege of sitting in on both the MAC and JAC culinary classes during the rainy morning, and it’s safe to say that these kids are not only athletic, funny, and smart, but they’re pretty darn talented, too!

Our MACsters picked up their whisks and chocolate chips and baked up a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies. Martha Stewart better watch out, because our campers have quite the knack for baking! Not only can they whip up a delicious batch of cookies, but they can have fun together, too. That’s the beauty of Adventure Camp–we’re only into our third day, and our kids have already made fast friends! Granted, these friends might be a bit of a brown noser, but that’s only during culinary class ;)

After spending the morning with the MAC campers in the kitchen, I headed over to the JAC culinary class, where they were preparing turtle and snake pizzas. You may be scratching your heads and wondering what in the world a pizza that’s named after reptiles might entail, but trust me–not only were they delicious, but they were stinking cute, too! Lying on a bed of green bean grass, they looked up with their black olive eyes & seemed to be saying, “C’mon! You know I look delicious!”

Once the day wound down, and our kids returned from their outdoor activities, they took to the pool for the first battle of Hurricanes vs. Tornadoes! Turtle Races, the Biggest Splash Competition, and a free swim later, and the Tornadoes came out on top! It was a close battle, though. We’ll have to see what happens in the weeks to come–the forecast is looking a little stormy, so anything is possible!
