Blue skies and warm weather was the forecast for Day 2 of Adventure Camp, and we all know we like it when the weatherman is actually right! No one could ask for a better day to continue the excitement of yesterday’s opening ceremony and games. Laughter and smiling faces were in no short order today. To prove it, here’s a video of how much fun our campers have been having already!

The day started off with a hearty (and healthy) breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and juice. Then campers jumped right into their “enrichment” classes. Some campers worked in “Digital Photography” (the Camp Cam Team’s personal favorite) while others learned magic tricks in “Mystery of Magic.” Or maybe “Culinary Delights”- a favorite amongst campers, though its hard to say if it’s the cooking or the eating they like best!
In the afternoon camper headed to the great outdoors, taking part in activities like horseback riding, kayaking, mountain biking, wilderness skills, or wilderness training. There was no better day to be outdoors taking part in adrenaline pumping activities and learning new skills from our staff. Our specialist are making sure the campers are strapped in tight and having an awesome time. It’s OK to be jealous!
With everyone back on campus in the evening the campers were met with a carnival! All the classics were there! Corndogs, cotton candy, balloon pop, ring toss, a giant inflatable obstacle course, and a dunk tank (just to let the counselors know who’s really in charge).
Last but not least campers were split into two teams that will last the duration of camp. HURRICANES vs TORNADOES! These two teams will don their colors (Hurricanes Blue and Tornadoes Red) on special occasions to battle it out for bragging rights. Right after the big ceremonies campers wore their colors with pride in a massive game of Capture the Flag! The mighty Tornadoes were able to grab the victory with less than five minutes to go and left the Hurricanes feeling more like a summer drizzle.
Fun prevailed all however and the campers were left thinking “I wonder what we get to do tomorrow?!” Check out the rest of today’s photos on our Flickr page!
